Formación de Capital Humano


I have trained 23 undergraduate students in Civil Engineering at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Universidad Andrés Bello, and Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María. Currently, I serve as supervisor of two undergraduate students at Universidad Andrés Bello, two master’s students, and one doctoral student as co-supervisor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In addition, I am co-supervisor of two master’s students in science at Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción.


Difusión y Transferencia


My academic career has been guided by a strong commitment to social impact, particularly through the transfer of knowledge to non-academic audiences and the promotion of community resilience to natural hazards. During my Ph.D., I led workshops in Puerto Rico in collaboration with the NGOs PRoTechos and Techos Pa’ Mi Gente, training 35 participants in timber design principles for hurricane-resilient housing. This experience strengthened my ability to translate technical concepts into practical and accessible tools. At CENAMAD, I have promoted outreach activities, including the Diploma in Timber Design and Construction, the Chile 2024 Technology Tour, and a seminar for the MBA program at Johns Hopkins University. I also contributed to the drafting of a national standard for CLT buildings, which was submitted to the National Institute of Standardization. In addition, I collaborated with AICE in professional training programs for over 180 industry participants. I have supported the evaluation of research as a reviewer for scientific journals and internal funding competitions, and I volunteered as a reading tutor in the Summer 2025 Reading Club program. These actions reflect my commitment to socially relevant knowledge transfer and my role as a bridge between academia, industry, and the community.
